The South Bronx Farmer’s Market

South Bronx Farmer's MarketThe South Bronx Farmer’s Market, Inc. (“SBFM”) makes it possible for residents to get healthy, affordable, locally grown produce. We want our neighbors to eat right so they fight obesity, diabetes, and malnourishment.

When does the market open? June 17 is opening day and the market runs through Nov. 22. Market days are Wednesday and Saturdays, 10 am – 4 pm.

Where is the market located? 138th Street between Alexander & Willis Avenues, Bronx, NY

Does the market accept EBT SNAP Benefits? Yes! Vendors accept SNAP/EBT, WIC, FMNP checks and Senior FMNP checks. SNAP/EBT users earn one $2 Health Buck for every $5 spent on their SNAP/EBT card all year long! Health Bucks can be spent at NYC farmer’s markets for fresh fruits and vegetables!

What do vendors sell? Both regional and urban-grown fresh produce as well as affordable meat, dairy and bakery items, eggs, teas and herbs.

What makes this market special? Along with connecting residents and local farmers, the market organizes educational programs — cooking and nutrition demonstrations by Stellar Markets and Just Food. They offer cooking tips, samples, recipes and Health Bucks to spend on the spot!
