We, at the North Buffalo Farmers’ Market, believe that choosing to eat locally-grown food is more than a trend – it’s a healthy way of life! When you ‘eat local,’ it means you can find nutritional, fresh foods. And you will find those fresh fruits and vegetables every week at our market!
When does the market open? June 1. It runs through Oct. 26 and is open Thursdays, 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm.
Where is the market located? 85 Dakota (Hertel Ave @ Delaware Ave), Buffalo, NY
Do the vendors accept EBT SNAP Benefits? Yes, and NBFM takes part in the Double Up Food Bucks Program, where you can get more fruits and vegetables when you use your EBT SNAP card. For example, if you spend $10 from your SNAP EBT Card, we give you another $10 to buy fresh fruits and veggies grown in New York State.
What do your vendors sell? A variety of fresh fruits and vegetables.
Do you have special events scheduled? Yes, a number of them throughout the season! For example, Chef Don Keating appears throughout the summer, creating dishes based on foods he selects from our vendors! On July 13, we will have two chefs competing, and July 20, the kids get a chance to cook with Chef Don!
What makes your market special? We like the fact that our shoppers know the farmer that has produced their food. We also encourage eating local as a way to help the environment and the local economy, as the dollars you spend on food stay in our local community.
